Pet Friendly Apartments, Townhomes, Duplex Homes in Edmond Oklahoma
Are you looking for a pet-friendly apartment, townhouse or duplex home? At Kennedy Place most mature small pets are welcome. Please ask about yours before you move in.
The pet needs to be at least one year of age, housebroken, and spayed or neutered if a dog or cat (written proof required). Pet offspring are not allowed. Bulldogs are not welcome. Pets other than a dog or cat need to be caged.
We accept certain pets if they are well-behaved and do not damage the dwelling, disturb neighbors, or constitute a threat to staff or residents. Pets must be licensed and vaccinated as required by law.
We invite you to call (405) 341-7911, email us or visit Kennedy Place (map) today, July 10, to find out if we have an available home for you and your pet. You'll be happy you did.
Please bring your pet in for an interview with the manager before you move in.
Why Pet Rent?
Kennedy Place is a pet-friendly rental property. We accommodate pets because we know how attached people become to them. However, pets represent an additional cost to our operation, so we hold an additional pet security deposit for you and charge pet rent.
Your pet security deposit is refundable for the amount we do not need to make us whole after your tenancy. Pet rent is non-refundable.
Some pet owners are suspicious of pet rent when they "know" their pet won't cause excessive damage or wear and tear to their home. They think pet rent is just another way of being charged more money, but landlords don't collect pet rent for only what happens inside one particular apartment.
Landlords charge pet rent for the extra wear and tear animals inevitably causesinside and outside of their apartment. We are not obligated to accept non-humans in our buildings, except for service animals. Pets require additional maintenance for the property, and we ask pet owners to pay for it.
If you do not have an uncaged pet, why should you pay for our maintenance personnel to go out and fix the landscape or clean up after somebody else's pet? You shouldn't, and we won't ask you to. We ask pet owners to pay.
Most pet owners are responsible for their pets, but not all are. Pets can and do cause damage to common areas and landscaping in addition to the interior of the apartment they live in.
Pet urine can go through carpet to the pad and subflooring. It's amazing (note I didn't say "funny") how far pet urine can penetrate the physical structure of an apartment with a difficult-to-remove smell. Similarly, repairs can be needed for walls, doors, cabinets and baseboards that are chewed or clawed.
Cats vs. dogs. Some cat owners think a cat cannot do as much damage as a dog. Not so. When a cat sprays, the carpet is ruined and maybe the paint on walls, doors, cabinets and baseboards.
It can be a great expense to get rid of cat smells, and some people are allergic to cats, so it takes extra effort (and money) to prepare an apartment for the next resident.
Pet deposits and pet rent help us recover costs we bear to bring an apartment back to its original pet-free, odor-free condition after you and your pet move out. You will also be asked to pay for damage your pet causes to the apartment or common area above and beyond any pet rent or pet fees already paid.
We understand how pet owners who take good care of their pets feel when they're affected by those who don't, but we have no way of knowing for certain about this until you move out. Our industry laws and standards require us to treat everyone who has a pet the same, so we try to be fair with our deposits, fees and rents. In return, we ask that you take good care of your pet and your apartment. If you cannot do both, please rent somewhere else.
